Welcome to 96 Milestones! I am overjoyed that you are here. Really do appreciate your time.
I’ve been wanting to start a new blog for the longest time and I have not fully decided and committed until a few months ago. To give you an overview, I started blogging late 2011 mainly because I was curious and at the same time I wanted to keep a diary of our long distance relationship adventures. When I started? I really didn’t have any idea about blogging, all I know was ~ write something, upload decent photos and publish. And to be truthfully honest, I wasn’t as particular about blogging before as I am right now. All that mattered to me then was my goals were met, it fed my curiosity and I have an online journal.
Over the years, I have learned so many things about blogging ~ from sharing, to designing, coding, organizing, and connecting with people from around the world. I do like and enjoy these little things, it brings color to my world. My goals now are: 1. focus only on things I love to do and share; 2: make sure not to commit the same mistakes I’ve made from the old blog.
On the new blog, my stories will revolve around~
globetrotting. Traveling around the world is my greatest dream since I was a child. The first time I got the chance to go on a trip outside Cebu, I cried and begged my parents to say yes and convinced Mama to sign the parent consent form. She did sign the form after a bucket of tears. Lol. And as I recall, I used to tell myself in the mirror, “Study hard and one day you will be able to go and explore the world”. I’m glad my little self listened to my ghost’s advise.
baking. My mom used to sell baked goods when I was growing up. I remember her waking up early or sleeping late for orders especially during Christmas season. I must have acquired this talent from her, “Thanks Ma!”. I don’t eat much sweets or desserts but I do love to bake. My husband is the opposite so we are a perfect match, I bake and he eats.
[M] musings. Just some itsy-bitsy adventures worth sharing that does not involved globetrotting and baking.
BEHIND THE SCENES
New Desk. I had the perfect idea of my office space when we moved into this house a few months ago. But I didn’t have the motivation to set it up until the planning state of this site. This is somewhere close to our dining and kitchen area, actually a good spot in case I want to multitask ~ bake, eat and blog.
Camera. Better quality photos is one of the things I wanted to be consistent on the new blog. I will be using my Fujifilm X-T10 for the most part. And my smartphone for any social media uploads.
Why 96 Milestones? 96 is actually our number initials; 9uenny & 6rian. And for Milestones, I was searching for a word that starts with a letter M, like our last name, which represents significant events. The main topics on the blog also follows the same pattern, 96M.
Why Launch Today? It’s my 33rd birthday! Another year means a new start of beautiful and meaningful memories. Hope you’ll stick around for more stories and exciting giveaways.
Hope you are having a blast! xoxo.
